ONE WEEK TO GO UNTIL THE FINAL Space shuttle Launch:

* Friday July 8

* 11:26 am  (LAUNCH TIME.  ARRIVE EARLY-- 11:00 am is better for parking)

* Payne's Prairie Observation Deck US HWY 441

Come on out and observe the launch from Gainesville!  Yes, you can see the launch, the rocket thrust, the smoke, and the trail arcing across the sky.

Drive out to Payne's Prairie observation deck on US HWY 441 (Southwest 13th street).

Meet at 11:00 to make sure you get good parking!

Bring your hand-held ham radio... shuttle audio will be re-broadcast on 146.910 repeater.

(Remember, iPhones and Androids can get the audio/video, but it is usually heavily delayed for a live viewing).

We'll be out with portable TV, 2-meter radio, loudspeakers, and a table.  The whole event will be over in less than an hour so you can leave a little early for lunch and catch the launch!  Bring lunch with you to eat.

Only 4 astronauts are going up on this historic final flight, so here's your chance to make it a memorable part of your own personal history.
