Members: Below is a web link for more information, photos and a migration
tracking map for the Whimbrel: Machi. One of the images appears to be
mislabeled and actually offers a view of the bird when it stopped-over in
Florida's Everglades during a spring migration detour around adverse
weather. The first image offers a view of the satellite tracking device
(back pack) and its method of mounting. Such technology has revolutionized
the tracking of many species around the globe and greatly expanded our
knowledge of bird movements and migration.

The WorldWader's website offers important news of other developments
affecting shorebird conservation around the world. Given the recent
sightings of Hudsonian Godwits in Florida, see the timely news concerning
their primary wintering grounds in Chile.
