Primary Purpose:        Coordinate off-campus and online undergraduate tutoring services.    

Essential Job Functions:  
1. Hire, schedule, supervise, and evaluate tutors in collaboration with the Assistant Director of Academic Services. 

2. Train tutors regarding proper procedures and effective tutoring techniques in collaboration with the Assistant Director of Academic Services. Deliver tutoring sessions on an as-needed basis. 

3. Develop, implement, and evaluate academic services for the Student Educational Centers. 

4. Work collaboratively with professional (OAS) team members in the on-going development and training of tutors in the delivery of face-to-face and online tutoring services. 

5. Work collaboratively with professional (OAS) team members in maintaining and enhancing current CRLA certification efforts. 

6. Develop, implement, train, and evaluate online tutoring for providing services to all undergraduate NSU students. 

7. Coordinate the acquisition of appropriate tutoring materials and disseminate these to the tutors and other appropriate individuals at the Student Educational Centers. Develop additional materials as needed to enhance academic services at all locations and in all formats. 

8. Travel to the Student Educational Centers to assess needs, update materials, and conduct in-person tutor interviewing and training. Interface with site administrators to foster partnerships that support undergraduate student success. 

9. Promote the use of academic assistance resources among students, instructors, advisors, and Academic Program Managers using various marketing strategies. Participate in faculty and administration functions, i.e. new student orientations, open houses, student appreciation week either in person or through tutor representation. 

10. Oversee the development and delivery of academic support workshops for instructors and students, on and off campus, working in collaboration with professional (OAS) team members. 

11. Increase and enhance the use of new technology for tutoring students. 

12. Collect and review periodic statistical reports on student tutoring usage and workshop attendance as requested by the Assistant Director and Director. 

13. Collect and review semester evaluations of services initiating corrective responses as needed in conjunction with the Assistant Director. 

14. Assist in the maintenance of the tutoring database and coordinate training of staff for data collection, entry, and reports. 

15. Coordinate the maintenance of the web pages for the Office of Academic Services. 

16. Mentor referred students on ways to enhance academic success through improvements to study skills and time management. 

17. Assist in student success initiatives. 

18. Serve on appropriate College and University committees. 

19. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Academic Services.    

Marginal Job Functions:         Assist the Director or designee with special projects.    

Required Education                Master's Degree    

Major (if required):     
Required Experience:             
1. Three to five years experience working in a post-secondary tutoring environment. 

2. Experience with computer technology. 

3. Expertise in writing, math, or science required.    

Preferred Qualifications:         Supervisory experience.
