Each student picks a code number to use as their ID for that class.  The 
instructor keeps the list secure. Students are urged to remember the 
code, but if they forget which number is theirs, they can check with the 
instructor.  Numbers can be changed at any point in the semester if 
students think their identity has been compromised.
