Wendy,

My department is a 1:70 ratio for only undergraduates or 1:98 including the graduate students. It's worth noting that I do not oversee the Campus Access Services (Disability Services) tutors, of whom I think there are a handful, or the Living and Learning Community residential tutors, of whom I believe there are between 12 and 20. I hope that this information helps.

Sincerely,

Wendy,
When you ask <<That is, how
many staff do you have as compared to number of students at your institution?” Wouldn't we want to ask how many staff compared to students we serve? rather than students at the college?

How do this calculate this ratio?
Thanks,
Nina

Subject: student to staff ratio in learning/tutoring departments?

Hello All,
This past year, our University went through a Presidential shift. One of our new President's initiatives was to form strategic planning teams that included numerous staff and faculty across campus. This is a wonderful opportunity and I would love to show up to our retreat with as much information as possible;) One question I would love feedback on is:
*"What is your student to staff ratio for your department? That is, how many staff do you have as compared to number of students at your institution?”
*Thank you in advance:) I look forward to hearing from you!
