Dear BEST members, There is an organization in the UK called Waste and Resources Action Program (WRAP) and they are providing funding to waste collection firms for their food waste collection services. This funding will keep 26,000 tons of food waste out of landfills. Restaurants, pubs, and cafes supply the food waste that will be used as fertilizers or as a fuel source for anaerobic digestion. WRAP will provide waste collection companies, such as Greenability and Leeds Paper, with guidance on how to save money and reduce their food waste. The funding is worth 500,000 pounds and will be awarded to 7 companies.
