Dear Best,

The Department of Energy has recently announced that it will make $40 million dollars of funding available in order for researchers to pursue innovative pilot and demonstration-scale production of advanced biofuels. While the main intent of the DoE is to identify and evaluate biorefineries that can produce fuels to be used in military vehicles, this new funding will nonetheless help to stabilize the cost of fuel for the American consumer. Specifically, algal feedstocks have been identified as promising because of their ability to act as biocatalysts, accumulate lipids, and excrete fuel of fuel intermediates.

Best Regards,
Jose St Louis
