Hello BESTers,

Bingo! The Potawatomi tribe in Milwaukee has a solution to the
community's food waste. The tribe will be constructing an anaerobic
digestion at the Patowatomi Bingo Casino to collect food waste from the
local community and convert it to electricity. The $18.6 million dollar
project is currently in the design phase. The digester will produce
enough biogas to power 2 MW turbines and generate 16 million KWH of
electricity annually. This project will help to offset most of the
tribe's energy usage in Wisconsin and will reaffirm their commitment to
the environment. With the high number of dairy digesters in Wisconsin
(29 according to the EPA AgStar Program), it is time that food waste
digestion follows suit.

Have a great weekend,
Ryan
