Goal and Significance: We are delighted to invite you to the inaugural PhDMoms event, and the first of its kind at the University of Florida: UF Student-Family Welcome!

The goal of this free event open to all UF students is to provide a family-friendly welcome to current and incoming student-families/student-parents.

When: Saturday, Aug 17th from 10am to 1pm EST.

Where: Corry Village’s Commons – Graduate/Family Housing

FB Event Page:

Who Should Attend: Any currently enrolled or incoming UF student and their spouse/partner as well as children are welcome! Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Registration is required and available on-site.

What to Expect: We are looking forward to providing a fun and family-friendly atmosphere in which students can learn about what services are at UF to support their WHOLE academic and family success. Specifically, information for accompanying spouses and children will be available in addition to a wealth of resources for students. While a lot of information will be geared toward graduate and professional students but any student-parent/student-family is welcome as there will be a lot of activities (bounce houses!), food, and information.

Benefit to UF Student-Body and University: Student-Parents and Student-Families add to the growing diversity of the UF student body, just as student-athletes, student-veterans, and other unique groups have done. This diversity serves to better prepare us for the realities of the workforce and society. PhDMoms is committed to outreach that increases the awareness of a group of students that are not only completing their degrees, but are also raising and teaching the next generation of Gators!
