The St. Johns River Water Management District (SJRWMD) is offering the Unpaid Internships described below for the Fall 2013 term, starting September 3, 2013  and ending on November 22, 2013 . Students will be assigned to a mentor who will provide training and instruction.

Job Summary: The selected student will assist with field and office work providing support to the Minimum Flows and Levels (MFL) Program staff scientists in the Bureau of Water Supply. Student will assist with field data collection, data entry, and analysis.

Job Summary: The Wetlands and Watershed section in the Bureau of Environmental Sciences is in need of GIS support specifically to assist the Nitrogen Biogeochemistry Working Group (Springs Protection Initiative - Science). The Working Group has been tasked with addressing all aspects of nitrogen loading and cycling in the spring shed. This work will be an excellent opportunity for an advanced graduate student to develop GIS skills, specifically working with Arc Hydro Groundwater (Strassberg, Jones and Maidment 2011 ESRI Press), and to experience working with District scientists in support of a critical environmental issue.

Job Summary: The Wetlands and Watersheds Section will be developing maps for the St. Johns River Water Management District (SJRWMD)'s ArcGIS Online for Organizations. ArcGIS Online is a cloud-based collaborative content management system for maps, apps, data and other geospatial information. SJRMWD is developing the newly expanded ArcGIS Online for Organizations for internal use.

Job Summary: The selected student will assist with the analysis to identify Submerged Aquatic Vegetation (SAV) from hyperspectral imagery and groundtruthing assessment data.

Job Summary: The selected student will assist the procurement area with administrative duties related to the procurement process. The student will assist with the year-end rush, as well as preparation of new procurements and renewals.
