*Assistant Professor of Media Theory and Politics
The Brian Lamb School of Communication at Purdue University invites
applications for a tenure-track assistant professor whose research and
teaching center on intersections between media theory and political
communication, integrating knowledge of new media technologies and
environments. For example, a candidate might explore interactions between
social media in political campaigns, digital government, media and policy,
media effects, mediated public discourse and government decision making, or
media and public discourse. Purdue is home to the C-SPAN Archives, and we
welcome applications from scholars whose research and teaching might make
use of this resource. In addition, research programs that intersect with
existing strengths of the Lamb School are highly desirable.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses at both the
undergraduate and graduate levels, work collaboratively with graduate
students, publish innovative research, and seek extramural research funding.
A Ph.D. in communication or a closely related field is required by August
2014, but advanced ABDs will be considered.
