Dear BEST members and friends,

For much of the last few years, all of our algae biofuel numbers have been based on models and theories, but a pilot scale facility Life Cycle Analysis published in Bioresource Technology has been conducted that is showing even more optimism than predicted. WIth the EPA saying that algae based fuels could reduce emissions up to 50%, and the National Research Council deeming the industry to not be a threat to land or water sustainability, the algae fuel industry is slowly gaining ground on the petroleum dominated market. With prices of petroleum products approaching all time highs, and their energy returns approaching lows, algae biofuels seems poised to become competitive in the near future.

Thank you,

Brent Lovato
