This morning Al and I found a male Common Goldeneye in Weekiwachee Preserve,
Hernando County. In the same pond there was a Common Loon and 8 feeding
Forster's Terns. And in another nearby pond there were 2 female Buffleheads.

To reach Weekiwachee Preserve, from the intersection of US-19 and Spring
Hill Drive (CR-574) in Spring Hill, Hernando County, just north of Wal-Mart,
turn west from the traffic light onto Osowaw Blvd. (CR-595), and follow the
road through a right and left turn, then turn right into the parking area
for the Preserve (0.7 miles from the traffic light).

Walk 0.25 mile to the first trail on the left. When this trail forks three
ways, take the center fork, walking toward a sheltered picnic table. The 2
Buffleheads were in the pond on the left before you reach the shelter. The
Common Goldeneye, Common Loon, and Forster's Terns were in the lake just
beyond the shelter.
