Fellow Listers -

I encourage you to consider attending and/or presenting at the ATEA
(American Technical Education Association) National Conference March 26-28,
2014. The Conference will be held at Dunwoody College of Technology in
Minneapolis, MN, and the theme is "Technical Education: Driving Opportunities
for Success."

Of particular interest are the programs and strategies you might use that
contribute to the academic success of your post-secondary technical
students; however, topics that relate to a specific technical area, etc., are
also welcome. The submitted proposals thus far range from the roles of art, the
humanities, and literacy in technical education; to advantages of a technical
video library and the effectiveness of intrusive advising; to game theory,
design, and development and using a CNC router to teach geometry.

Please pass the word along to your colleagues as appropriate as well. The
deadline for submissions is February 1. The proposal form and a PDF brochure
are attached. The ATEA Website ( has more
information as well.

Thank you in advance for your consideration, and I hope to see you at the

Let us not think of education only in terms of its costs, but rather in terms of
the infinite potential of the human mind that can be realized through education.
