4. Get warmed up and ready to be completely engaged at the conference by attending a FREE webinar this Wednesday, April 16th at 12 Noon (PST) when Leonard Geddes presents a sneak preview of: Transforming Good Students into Great Learners

  * Why do good students struggle in college?
  * Why do some students' study efforts lead to success, while other produce sub-par performance?
Answers to these questions are rooted in students' metacognitive functioning. Metacognition is the ability to actively direct one’s thinking and learning to meet necessary learning outcomes. Researchers have highlighted metacognition as a key distinction between successful students and their less successful peers. Students have the ability to think and learn deeply. However, these raw abilities must be developed into usable skills. The Transforming Good Students into Great Learners ACTLA pre-conference institute will show participants how to use students metacognitive functioning to develop and reinforce higher-order thinking and deep learning. Join Leonard for a 30 minute on-line meeting/webinar that will preview what you can expect in the pre-conference session.
