Postdoc opportunity at CMU in the Center for Computational Analysis of
Social and Organizational Systems.  This is a minimum of 1 year
position, with an immediate start date.  The PostDoc will engage in the
study of social and semantic network data extracted from news, social
media, and blogs.  Questions being addressed are varied and include
change in networks over time, differences in networks across countries,
ethnic groups and cultures.  Network analyses addressing issues related
to disaster response, social change, and trust using these data will be
done. Metric development and network reasoning with big data, using
positive and negative ties are also within project scope. The PostDoc
will work with Dr. Carley, and will take the lead on multiple papers for
publication in scientific journals.

Eligibility: Completion of the doctorate prior to the start of the
position is required for postdoctoral scholars.   There is no constraint
on the field of study - rather the position is open to applicants from
any field including any of the social sciences, mathematical, or
computer sciences. The candidate must have experience in social networks
or network
science and statistical methods and willingness to work on a diversity
of data.  The candidate must be able to write well in English.
