Subject: PV module reliability and durability: Send us your feedback

U.S. Department of Energy, SunShot Initiative

Dear SunShot Supporter,

In preparation for the creation of a new funding opportunity, the SunShot Initiative seeks your feedback about issues surrounding photovoltaic (PV) module reliability and durability.

PV modules are exposed to severe operating conditions involving temperature, thermal cycling, ultraviolent radiation, humidity, environmental weathering and soiling, electrical, and other stresses. Due to these conditions, it’s important to address the risk and uncertainty in PV performance through SunShot’s PV research and development work.

SunShot today released a request for information (RFI) soliciting input from industry, academia, research laboratories, government agencies, and other stakeholders to determine fruitful areas of research and development that could lead to improved PV module reliability and durability.

Find the questions and submission instructions here

Please submit your responses to [log in to unmask] by noon on Monday, October 6.

Thank you in advance for taking the time to ensure that SunShot’s funding programs are targeted and effective in helping to make solar energy more affordable for all Americans.
