The Center for Science, Technology and Environmental Policy Studies (C-STEPS) at Arizona State University (ASU) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Assistant position to begin immediately.
This is a full-time (1.0 FTE), benefits-eligible, year-to-year appointment. Renewal is possible on an annual basis contingent upon satisfactory performance, the continued availability of funding, and the needs of the program. The successful candidate would be expected to collaborate with C-STEPS faculty and students, conduct research, initiate new funded research projects, and publish results via conferences, policy documents, and academic publications. The Postdoctoral Research Assistant will be engaged in research design, research production, and social and professional activities. Research activities involve development and administration of surveys and interviews, integration and analysis of collected data, grant development and submission, assistance with project reports and administration, and other related activities.
The Center for Science, Technology and Environmental Policy Studies: C-STEPS promotes collaborative research among faculty, postdoctoral scholars, students, scientists, and practitioners on interdisciplinary problems related to science, technology, information and the environment. The Center places strong emphases on conducting policy relevant empirical research and on training new generations of policy professionals and academics.
We have a number of exciting projects at C-STEPS, including (1) evaluations of science centers, (2) network studies of scientists, (3) international collaborations investigating the use, transfer, and sharing of data and agricultural genetic materials, and (4) studies with the USDOT related to travel training programs and climate change for transit.
Qualifications: Qualified candidates must have a Ph.D. or expected to receive a Ph.D. by the start of the appointment; experience in science and technology policy, social network analysis, program evaluation, and project management. The disciplinary background is open. The successful candidate will have strong research, communication, and teamwork skills. Expertise in social network analysis is preferred.
