The Australian Senate has passed a motion calling for the release of a
study conducted by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) into the financial concerns
and implications of the Australian government's proposed mandatory
data-retention legislation

on Monday.

The motion was passed by 38 votes to 28 against, with Senator Scott Ludlam
saying that the implementation of the legislation would be an extremely
costly exercise.
