You might also consider putting in a doorway "people counter." Of course,
you'd need to have the budget for such an item - I think the last one we
purchased cost about $400. But you mention having multiple rooms, so here I
guess the cost can get pretty high pretty quickly. But a counter can at
least give you an idea of how much foot traffic you've seen each day. We
use one of these at our main doors and then another one also at the
entrance to our Help Room where tutoring happens.

We also use a Google Doc sign-in during our drop-in tutoring hours, but we
do have a student assistant on hand at that time to remind tutees to
sign-in on that Google doc.
