Hopefully the following ideas are beneficial to the listserve community.

* If your training program is not yet certified through CRLA, I highly encourage doing so. There is a difference in your students graduating with a recognized certification.

* Look at local/ regional conferences. I am trying to give my senior tutors the opportunity to attend one conference. They are expected to come back with at least one idea that we can consider implementing for our students.

* Provide Leadership responsibilities, with the training needed to fill that role. This includes allowing the senior tutors to conduct some of the training for junior tutors, providing opportunities to assume supervisory responsibility, and providing opportunities for senior tutors to assist in interviewing applicants.

* Assign senior tutors the responsibility to review and revise training modules and materials. Expect them to cite the sources for the changes they are making.

These are some of the things we do. I hope they are helpful.
