Job Description:                Under administrative supervision of Associate Director for the University Academic Success Programs (UASP), plans, organizes, and coordinates student support services targeted to promoting academic standards and student success in meeting these standards to improve retention and graduation rates for undergraduate students in the university, and coordinates all operations of the Palo Verde Tutoring Centers located in residential facilities. This position has a nontraditional work schedule. The sites are open Sunday - Thursday in the evenings. The expectation is this position will work in the afternoon and evenings, including a potential for Sunday hours. The specific hours will be determined by the program needs in conjunction with the direct supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment AND three (3) years of related experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

  *   Use standard office equipment such as computer workstation/laptop (keyboard, monitor, mouse), printer, fax, calculator, copier, telephone and associated computer/technology peripherals
  *   Receives regular review of work activities to ensure achievement of established goals and objectives.
Essential Duties:

  *   Provide outreach and marketing to north campus residential community regarding the Student Success Center services.
  *   Recruit, interview, hire, and train student employees for designated areas. Supervise student support staff. Plans, directs and organizes the activities of the student support unit.
  *   Manage all aspects of TutorTrac program, including monitoring and tracking data, creating reports, and resolving issues as they arise.
  *   Develop tutoring schedule based on budget and demonstrated need of targeted student population.
  *   Evaluate need for additional academic support services such as test reviews and structured study groups and implement when appropriate.
  *   Initiate, develop and sustain strong positive relations with program coordinators/directors and department chairs to ensure achievement of the mission and goals of University Academic Success Programs (UASP) and ASU.
  *   Represent UASP and serves on various department and university committees - including working the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and Ira. A. Fulton Schools of Engineering.
  *   Develop and facilitate workshops, meetings or conferences with high impact on program and/or participants; coordinates logistics, scheduling and participant communications.
  *   Provide direct tutoring help, individually and in small groups, to students as appropriate.
  *   Work collaboratively with UASP Management Team to coordinate academic success program development, implementation, presence and coordination at various campus locations to ensure availability of appropriate resource materials and support.
  *   Represent the department and serves on various department and university committees.
  *   Assist in preparing budget proposals; establish expenditure controls and recommend the allocation of resources within the limitations of the budget.
  *   Respond to student questions and concerns; work with students to resolve all issues to ensure ongoing satisfaction with program and successful progress to completion.
  *   Prepare regular program reports providing trends, activity, student utilization, programmatic gaps and indicators of student success; identify areas for improvement as appropriate to ensure ongoing achievement of established goals and objectives; respond to ad hoc data analysis requests from Director, Office of the Provost and other interested entities.
  *   Assist with the facilitation of department wide programs like Early Start and Pass.
  *   Use social media to promote department.
  *   Provide assistance and information to faculty, staff and outside organizations regarding function/programs.
  *   Serve as a representative to ensure all aspects of function/program are implemented and controlled according to plans.
  *   Maintain knowledge of ASU academic structure and organization as well as various academic programs, colleges and departments
  *   Maintain knowledge of the principles and methods of program management
Desired Qualifications:

  *   Evidence of a Master's degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment and one year of related administrative experience
  *   Demonstrated knowledge of two or more of the following academic areas: math, science, business or engineering
  *   Experience in residential life
  *   Experience in working collaboratively with others in a team environment
  *   Experience in using Microsoft applications
  *   Demonstrated knowledge of principles, practices, procedures, and methods of evidence based student success strategies
  *   Experience in designing presentation materials and giving oral presentations in group settings.
