Hello Holly!

Great question! I do not know of a book specifically on Academic Coaching,
but we have multiple sites. I would also recommend a book called Academic
Transformation that was used as part of a learning skills course.
http://www.amazon.com/Academic-Transformation-College-Success-Edition/dp/0321885724
In addition, we have other materials we have created that assist our
Academic Coaches, most of whom are graduate students that I can email to
you.. Here are some sites we refer to as a collaboration to our Student
Assistance Learning Center (SLAC)..
http://www.txstate.edu/slac/studyskills.html Would you be interested in a
Skype or phone conversation with me and possibly some of my colleagues at
Texas State University? We can learn from each other what has worked well.
We are one hour behind you as far as time zones are concerned.

In addition, you can view our website which is a program for Freshmen
called Personalized Academic & Career Exploration, Mentoring & Academic
Coaching (PACE MAC)..http://pace.txstate.edu/ This program can be for all
classes. Since you are working at a small, liberal arts school, you might
be more nimble than our campus of 35,000 students, 31,000 of which are
undergrads. We work closely with SLAC (feel free to review the SLAC site
too) and our Math Lab http://www.math.txstate.edu/resources/lab.html.

This is a lot of homework for you! I hope this helps.

Sincerely,
Burel Ford
