This afternoon, 3/4, the first cycle Thayer's Gull and the very white 1st cycle Iceland Gull were both on the beach at Daytona Beach Shores about 1/4 mile south of Frank Rendon Park. Another very interesting gull was a supposed adult Lesser Black-backed Gull x Herring Gull hybrid. The bird was the size of a Herring Gull, but the mantle was about 1/2 way between the darkness of a Herring Gull and a Lesser Black-backed Gull. The leg color was an odd yellowish pink. There was also a hint of bluish cast to the very tops of the legs. In flight, the primary pattern was much more extensive black in the primaries than is found in Herring Gull with the black extending to the coverts on P8, 9, and 10. There was also a dark mark all the way on P4.
