For reading & study skills, I especially like the articles in "Handbook of College Reading and Study Strategy Research" by Rona F. Flippo & David C. Caverly (see http://www.amazon.com/Handbook-College-Reading-Strategy-Research/dp/0805860010). Although not specific to one discipline, the very readable book "What the Best College Teachers Do" by Ken Bain (see http://www.amazon.com/What-Best-College-Teachers-Do/dp/0674013255/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1435755512&sr=1-1&keywords=what+the+best+college+teachers+do) contains many useful suggestions.

Also, you may want to subscribe to Research and Teaching in Developmental Education. This journal, published by the New York College Learning Skills Association (a NADE affiliate), publishes helpful articles. See https://www.nyclsa.org/journal.html.

Subject: Articles for Tutor Training Library

Good Afternoon,

I am compiling articles for a training cohort that includes writing, reading, and technology tutors. I've found several great articles that are specific to writing center pedagogy, but I'm looking for resources on best practices that can be applied more broadly in a learning commons environment.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you,
