This role will provide the opportunity to develop novel and creative statistical models and machine learning systems for the analysis of film industry and social media datasets in collaboration with the research and development staff at Legendary Applied Analytics. Interns will build quantitative and programming skills in an exciting and high profile business context, playing a key role in expanding Legendary’s capability to characterize, market to, and understand audiences for films and other entertainment products.
Legendary is seeking current post-doctoral researchers or Ph.D. students pursuing degrees in statistics, computational and data science, physical sciences, quantitative social sciences, or related fields. Students pursuing thesis work specializing in one of the following disciplines are preferred:
Network analysis of social media data
Image recognition and computer vision
Natural language learning
Bayesian statistical modeling
The internship role is flexible, with a nominal commitment of 10 hours per week and lasting one semester in duration. Selected candidate(s) will be paid hourly at a competitive rate and provided with access to proprietary datasets and computational resources, as needed.
