The Teaching Center, in conjunction with the Graduate School, conducts several workshops each semester which are designed to help teaching assistants improve their teaching skills.  One strand of workshops (typically conducted on Tuesdays from 5-7pm) focuses on general teaching methodology and the second strand of workshops (typically conducted on Thursdays from 5-7pm) focuses on teaching with technology.  TAs can earn a “Certificate of Participation” for each strand by completing at least 10 workshops in the strand.   The next workshop, “Leading Discussions,” is scheduled for Tuesday, August 30.  The “Canvas” workshops are available throughout the semester.  For a description of the workshops and to register, please visit the Teaching Center web site under “Teaching More Effectively Workshop Series.”  For further information call 392-2010.
