Hi WyKeshia, Congratulations on your new space! That's very exciting. Something you might consider is having your tutoring staff create some of the supplementary materials for your center. For example, when my staff here are on shift but don't have any scheduled appointments, they work on creating banks of practice problems, practice tests/quizzes, and various handouts. As far as other potential resources, I'd recommend something cheap and reusable like a non-drying modeling clay or play-doh, and/or some basic molecular modeling kits for your chem students. Big whiteboards and plenty of markers are also a handy resource for all of those content areas. Congrats again on the new space! Keira M. My department is going forward with moving our tutorial program to its own separate location. We will call this location the Academic Success Center and this is where all of our individual and group tutoring sessions will be housed. I have been doing some research to determine what supplemental materials we should have in the space. We have a lot of math, a&p, and chemistry tutors so I know we need to have some items specifically for these courses (i.e: periodic table of elements, demo bones, plenty of calculators). Do you all have any suggestions? Thank you!
