Hi Erin, We chose to go with STARFISH Retention Solutions-now with Hobsons instead of Ellucian Pilot. We are very happy with the easy User Interface-it is great-it provides our students with a beautiful to do list and calendar view, and it certainly notifies everyone. Implementation was great and it has been very effective since our faculty love it and consider it their tool. Colleague. We used to use our own system and it was EXCELLENT, email copies were sent to the student, professor who sent it, academic support, advisor, and coach. With Colleague, we only get a summary email each day, or we have to remember to keep constant watch on the To Do list. We are not permitted to use the old system since we have a contractual obligation with Ellucian/Colleague. Their system sends only the first alert to the student, so if the student is sliding pretty bad and getting multiple alerts - they will only receive an email for the first alert. The initial case must be closed before any additional emails will be sent to the students. The system does not send a copy of the alert to the advisors/case managers/professor who submitted it, the advisor/case manager will get a summary email the next day - IF they have their preferences set to be reminded. This setting may have to be checked again if you do any upgrades, from my experience. We have had an awful time with this system. Just awful. There are multiple products on the market, but I hope to reach out to those experienced in running an early alert system to determine the following: * Do you have preferred program/software? * Who manages your early alert system and delegates the alerts (i.e., Academic Support, Academic Affairs, Student Success, etc.)? * In shopping for this program, there are many factors we must consider. In your experience, what factors need to be considered? I want to ensure that when we go through the selection process, we are not overlooking vital components for our institutional needs. Thank you for your input. Sincerely, Amber Amber Joy Wheeler, M.Ed. Academic Support Director [cid:[log in to unmask]]South Georgia State College Powell Hall, Room 212 100 W.
