Our policies are designed with our meager budget in mind - balancing the fiscal inputs/outputs with the demand. Our writing center policy is one 50 minute appointment per week per assignment (so students taking a history class and a comp. class can theoretically receive 2 appointments that week). There is no limit on walk-in assistance, if a tutor is available.

We have an allowance of 1 visit per day, but only 3 visits per week in our writing center. Each visit can last no longer than one hour. Three no-shows disqualifies them for the semester from the writing center, too.

Subject: Time Limits

Colleagues,

Do any of you put a time limit on the number of visits per week or the total amount of time a student can have per assigned paper in your writing labs?
