Our tutors enter outcomes of the sessions in Starfish. The students' instructors have access to the feedback. We promote tutoring as a good thing and tell tutees that getting help is viewed favorably by instructors, as indeed it is.

Subject: Re: Sharing names of tutees with Faculty

All,

Our Writing Center uses a similar process to Marietta College, above. They ask students in the appointment form on WC Online whether they want their professor to know they attended a session, and if so, the session information is sent to the faculty member. This practice is widely advertised on our campus, so students typically know it expect it.

For our other tutoring programs, we don't have the benefit of using WC Online; however, it is our policy that tutors must ask client permission before sharing their attendance information with faculty.

Hope this is helpful,
Emily
