Examples of complex networks are found in many fields of science such as biological systems, engineering systems, economic systems as well as social systems. The international workshop on Complex Networks and their Applications aims at bringing together researchers and practitioners from different science communities working on areas related to complex networks. The workshop targets two types of contributions from prospective authors: contributions dealing of theoretical tools and methods to solve practical problems as well as applications solved by tools from network sciences. Both contributions should stimulate interaction between theoreticians and practitioners. Authors are encouraged to submit both theoretical and applied papers on their research in complex networks. Topics for the workshop include, but are not limited to: · Models of Complex Networks · Structural Network Properties · Complex Networks and Epidemics · Community Structure & Discovery · Motif Discovery · Complex Networks Mining · Dynamics on and of Complex Networks · Link Prediction · Multiplex Networks · Network Controllability · Synchronization in Networks · Algorithms for Network Analysis · Networks Visual Representation · Large-scale Graph Analytics · Social Reputation, Influence, and Trust · Information Spreading in Social Media · Rumor and Viral Marketing · Recommendation Systems and Networks · Financial and Economic Networks · Complex Networks and Mobility · Biological and Technological Networks · Mobile call Complex Networks · Bio-informatics and Earth Sciences Applications · Resilience and Robustness · Networks for Physical Infrastructures · Networks, Smart Cities and Smart Grids · Political networks *Full papers* and *Extended Abstracts* are welcome. Both type of contributions can be accepted either for oral or poster presentation. · Full papers that, at the time of submission, are under review for or have already been published or accepted for publication in a journal or conference will not be accepted. · This restriction does not apply to extended abstracts. *Publications* · Accepted *Extended abstracts* will be published in the Book of Abstracts (with ISBN) together with the abstracts of the keynote presentations. · Accepted *Full papers* will be included in the workshop proceedings edited by Springer. Authors will be required to transfer copyright to Springer. The proceedings published on the Studies in Computational Intelligence <http://www.springer.com/series/7092> Series are submitted for indexing to SCOPUS, DBLP, MathSciNet, Zentralblatt Math, MetaPress, Ulrichs and Springerlink. *Format* Each submission must follow the Springer publication format available on the workshop website. <http://complexnetworks.org/#call> · Full Papers are recommended to be between 8-10 pages. They should not exceed 12 pages. · Extended Abstracts are recommended to be between 1-2 pages. They should not exceed 3 pages. *Submission* All contributions should be submitted via Easy chair <https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=complex_networks_2016>. https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=complex_networks_2016 *Journal special issues* Extended versions of accepted contributions will be invited for publication in special issues of international journals edited by Springer · Computational Social Networks <http://www.computationalsocialnetworks.com/> · Applied Network Science <http://www.springer.com/physics/complexity/journal/41109> <http://www.springer.com/physics/complexity/journal/41109> *Keynote Speakers * Guido Caldarelli *IMT Lucca – Italy* Raissa D’Souza * U.C Davis - USA* Renauld Lambiotte *University of Namur - Belgium* Yamir Moreno *University of Zaragoza - Spain* Eiko Yoneki *University of Cambridge - UK* Ben Y.
