Job: Postdoc, Center for War Studies, University of Southern Denmark

The Center for War Studies at the University of Southern Denmark is looking for a postdoctoral candidate to work on the project "Sharing the experience of war: The Afghan campaign and informal knowledge in military organizations".

Ideally, the selected post-doc has a good command of Social Network Analysis (SNA), and an interest in contributing to the literature on security studies, in particular the literature on military change. The post-doc and the PI will jointly write the Marie Curie proposal, with the support of the research unit at SDU. If successful, the post-doc will be located at the Center for War Studies, and work in close cooperation with the PI, the head of the Center, and an external advisor who agreed to contribute to the project (Frédéric Mérand, University of Montréal).

The purpose of this research is twofold: (1) Identifying the processes and mechanisms through which tacit knowledge about the Afghan campaign is transmitted within military organizations; (2) Understanding the content of this knowledge, and assessing the potential consequences for European member-states and NATO
