Greetings Water Institute Affiliate Faculty –

We are pleased to invite you to submit an abstract for the 2017 Unsaturated Zone Interest Group (UZIG) workshop titled "Land-Use Change, Climate Change, and Hydrologic Extremes: Unsaturated Zone Responses and Feedbacks".

The workshop objective is to advance unsaturated-zone science by fostering lively exchange of information on emerging theories, data, and technology across research groups. The event will promote collaborative sharing of ideas, research results, and technical expertise in a friendly informal setting.

This 3-day event will be at University of Florida in Gainesville from April 3-6, 2017, co-sponsored by the UF Water Institute. The keynote address will be by Dr. Upmanu Lall, Director of the Columbia Water Center at Columbia University, with 2 days of oral and poster sessions and a full-day field trip.

As with previous UZIG meetings, presenters will have the opportunity to publish their original research in a special issue of a peer-reviewed journal (2009 VZJ Special Section).

Information about the workshop, with the form for submitting your abstract, are at http://mn.water.usgs.gov/uzig/2017meeting.htm. Please feel free to distribute the attached flyer.
