Hathorn, PhD Director, Office of Graduate Minority Programs, The Graduate School RE: McKnight Doctoral Fellowship Announcement – Application Deadline January 15th, 2017 We request your assistance in encouraging eligible PhD applicants to submit an application for McKnight Doctoral Fellowship (MDF). The MDF program, established in 1984, is designed to address the underrepresentation of African-American and Hispanic faculty at colleges and universities in the state of Florida by increasing the number of students who earn a PhD. The MDF award provides an annual base stipend of $12,000 with tuition and fees for a up to five years. Eligibility Requirements: The McKnight Doctoral Fellowship is limited to African-American and Hispanic students who are U.S. citizens and admitted into a PhD program at a participating institution. Eligible students applying for admission to a UF PhD program for FALL 2017 enrollment must apply this cycle.
