The editorial team of the Journal of College Reading and Learning is enthusiastic to announce the call for manuscripts for The College Reading and Learning Association 50th Anniversary Special Issue. This issue will be an overview of the half century that the College Reading and Learning Association has supported student-oriented professionals by providing a forum to share ideas, methods, and information to best support students. The issue will also commemorate the professionals that have devoted their lives to student success, as well as the students who have realized academic, professional, and personal achievement through this work. As the flagship publication of the College Reading and Learning Association, the Journal of College Reading and Learning traditionally publishes high-quality articles on theory, research, and policy related to areas of developmental education, postsecondary instruction, and learning assistance at the postsecondary level. ·         A historical review of the College Reading and Learning Association

·         An analysis of the impact of the College Reading and Learning Association on underprepared learners

·         A discussion of the impact of key College Reading and Learning Association professionals.

·         A review of events beyond higher education that have impacted the work of College Reading and Learning Association professionals

·         An interrogation of the evolution and changing face of what influences students success (e.g., diversity, workforce, policy, the rise of Hispanic Serving Institutions, funding sources, globalization)

·         An evaluation of the relationship between the evolution of community colleges and the College Reading and Learning Association community

·         An update, revision, continuation, or rebuttal of a foundational professional reading
