Hi Josue:

I’ve done study halls in a couple of different ways. Initially, we had tutors work in the study hall; however, students’ needs were too varied. On some nights, tutors weren’t not used at all and other nights, they were in such high demand, they couldn’t accommodate everyone.

What ended up working for us was moving the study hall into the same building as the tutoring center, and the athletes were able to obtain tutoring “passes.” In other words, if there weren’t in study hall, they needed to be in the center, and if they weren’t in the center, they needed to be in study hall.

On a side note, we also implemented an athletic liaison from the athletic facility. The center flag athlete’s files, and the liaison would follow up regarding their progress each week.

I hope that helps a bit. Good luck!

Best,
Crystal

Subject: Study Hall for athletes

Hello,

Has anyone had any experience with Study Hall programs for Athletes? If you have, what has worked the best?
