From Lise Abrams:

Interested in R?:

·         There is an effort in CLAS, IFAS and other UF areas to build an R community to coordinate R learning and teaching initiatives on campus. As part of this effort, Dr. Raffaele Vacca in the Department of Sociology and Criminology & Law is creating an R interest group for graduate students and faculty (R-SSIG) spanning multiple UF departments in the social and political sciences, including Sociology and Criminology & Law, Anthropology, Psychology, Geography, and Political Science. In the last few years, UF has had several R-related resources, workshops and other events scattered around campus, with people finding it hard sometimes to obtain information and updates about them.  The group is meant to gather students and faculty who are interested in learning R (, advancing their R skills, getting news about R events at UF and R resources for our disciplines, and being in touch and help each other with other UF social scientists who are doing the same effort. Initially, the group will mainly operate through a Canvas website where they post news about R events and resources that are relevant to social scientists at UF. As of now, the group includes about 50 faculty and graduate students. If you're interested in joining, please email Raffaele at [log in to unmask] with your UFID or gatorlink so he can add you to the Canvas website.
