We have gotten as far as acknowledging that there needs to be a discussion concerning placement testing. Our center is in its fourth semester, and we have just started seeing students coming in for help passing Texas Success Initiative (TSI) placement testing. So far, I have been limited to providing students a series of links containing TSI practice tests and study guides. The most viable option on the table right now is using our free GED classes to help students taking placement tests. Thus, I am also interested if anybody else out there has other ideas.

Best,

Dean

Subject: Accuplacer Prep Sessions

Good morning,

I wanted to reach out and see if your institution offers any workshops, courses, materials, etc. in preparation for incoming students to take the Accuplacer as a placement exam. If your institution does, could you please share what you do (material type, schedule, who leads the prep sessions, etc.) and its effectiveness, perceived or otherwise.

Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Thank you!
