My center uses Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. We have a timeslot at freshmen orientations, and we tell them our social accounts there. Beyond that, we have our social accounts printed on our flyers and handouts.

We use our social media to advertise events and interact with campus entities. Our center is located in the library, and our library has a robust online presence. We frequently tag or converse with their account online, and both offices cross pollinate so to say. I've found that posts right before 8am, right after classes break for lunch, or around 3pm get the most traffic. We try not to post more than 2-3 times a week (typically 2 unless there's a lot going on) so that people don't get fed up. The center also has a hashtag that we encourage others to use when mentioning us on social media.

Subject: Social Media /Tutoring

How do your programs use social media, and how do you let students know that they can connect with you through social media?
