Following math placement (by Math SAT and high school transcript), around June 1st, eligible students are mailed (not emailed) an invitation to participate in our Online Mathematics Bridge Opportunity. We include an informational flyer about what courses they are eligible for, or not, given their placement and how that will affect their course sequencing going forward - the goal is complete transparency and no surprises! On the outside of the envelope, stamped in red, is the message: Important Placement Information - Your schedule depends on it! The red message on the outside is critical as the student and parents, will pay more attention to the mailing.



Our orientation is held in late June so we have the advantage of academic advisors and orientation staff promoting the Bridge program. Plus a second invitation is distributed at advising to any eligible student who has not yet logged in.



If all that doesn't work, I will email them shortly after the 4th of July with the same information.



The outreach is a lot of work but generally, about 50% of developmental students will complete Bridge. We are a 4 year private university with many majors in the health sciences and preprofessional programs.
