Diana,

I am responsible for the Academic Coaching & Research Services program here at Bridgewater State University, however, it certainly is only one piece of our puzzle in the Academic Achievement Center (AAC) here on campus.

The AAC houses Academic Advising for all first-semester, first-year students AND any/all undecided students (no matter what year they are). Education students, first-year students on probation after their first semester, and undecided students remain in the AAC after that first semester. All other students transition to a faculty advisor. In addition to advising, the Disability Resources Office is a part of the AAC, as well as Learning Assistance (tutoring, learning centers, academic coaching), and the Testing Services center.

Every day there's some form of collaborative project taking place and our individual services would be incomplete without being informed by the others.

I should also add that the Academic Advisors and Academic Coaches (graduate assistants) work together to bring services to members of our probation student population.

Feel free to reach out with further questions!

Renee

How you are working collectively with the Academic Advising and First- Year Experience offices on your campus?

I appreciate your suggestions
