Please note that October 6, 2017 is the UF Homecoming Holiday this year and the University will be closed and DSP staff will not be available for grant submissions. This will affect proposal submission deadlines normally scheduled for that date.
The Florida Department of Health (FDOH) has extended submission deadlines due to Hurricane Irma for the James and Esther King Biomedical Research Program, Bankhead-Coley Research Program, and Ed and Ethel Moore Alzheimer’s Disease Research Program. With the holiday closing occurring, DSP will be available through October 5, 2017 for approval of these proposals. I have attached a summary of some key items for these proposals that have caused some confusion in the past.
October 5 is also a major NIH deadline for new R01 and U01 proposals.
Please be aware that there may be up to 75 FDOH proposals being submitted for this deadline. In addition, we already have 43 NIH, NSF and DoD proposals in draft for that deadline, plus there will undoubtedly be additional proposals due on this date that have not yet been started in UFIRST.
Please try to complete and ready your application for submission in UFIRST before October 5, 2017.
If possible, please avoid submitting late Thursday afternoon, October 5. A late submission that does not pass Grants.gov or eRA Commons validations may not be able to be fixed in time and deadlines could be missed.
Please submit early! Early submissions allow time to address any NIH submission errors in Grants.gov and eRA Commons.
