RE:	International Students: Register Now for Fall B 2017 UF Scholarly Writing

SCHOLARLY WRITING

The Fall B Scholarly Writing class will begin October 16, 2017 and will end December 1, 2017, with no classes held Thanksgiving week.

One section of the class will meet 5:10 p.m. to 6:25 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays in 214 Matherly Hall.

A second section of the class will meet 5:10 p.m. to 6:25 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays in 214 Matherly Hall.

The last day to request enrollment or drop the class will be Monday, October 23^rd, 2017.

Scholarly Writing (formerly EAP 5845 and EAP 5846) is designed for international graduate students who wish to improve their written academic English skills. It teaches students to identify different writing styles through text analysis. The course seeks to develop students’ ability to write concisely with natural cohesion/flow. It also addresses common grammatical issues such as tense, article, and preposition usage. These aims are achieved through direct instruction, group work, practices, and individual writing times.

The Scholarly Writing course is offered as a non-credit class lasting six weeks. This class is not eligible for a tuition waiver and is not offered as a distance education class. The cost of a six-week section is $350.
