Call for Submissions “Social Networks, Educational Settings, and Learning” at Sunbelt 2018

For the third year, we are excited to organize a session on Networks for Learning at Sunbelt.
The session on Social Networks, Educational Settings, and Learning focuses on applying social network analysis to understand how educational actors (students, teachers, educational leaders, educational policymakers, etc.) are affected by or use their social networks for educational purposes or in educational settings. While studies of student networks often focus on the interplay between friendship/affiliation and social or academic outcomes, studies of networks among educational professionals often focus on the interplay between advice or communication relationships and the adoption or implementation of practices and programs. The session welcomes papers that make empirical, methodological and/or theoretical contributions to understandings of social networks in learning and education, including papers on:
• The importance of social networks for the social and learning environments of students, educational professionals, and adult learners
• Theoretical processes underlying educational social networks
• Measurement of educational social networks
We welcome papers that focus on a range of educational levels (i.e., preschool, primary school, secondary school, higher education). If you have questions about this session, please contact Katerina ([log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>) or Jennifer ([log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>)

Sunbelt 2018 will take place June 26 – July 1 in Utrecht, Netherlands. Abstracts for 20-minute paper presentations can be submitted at https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__sunbelt.sites.uu.nl_abstract-2Dsubmission_&d=DwIGaQ&c=pZJPUDQ3SB9JplYbifm4nt2lEVG5pWx2KikqINpWlZM&r=uXI5O6HThk1ULkPyaT6h2Ws3RKNKSY__GQ4DuS9UHhs&m=9kg7IRVuewDSIiefixS1y3oJXf0xcWlMpYPybmw816w&s=dap4TL3ti7uZtfaFaea6mMIDziFrTLJ9k8WF8TGei6w&e= <https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__sunbelt.sites.uu.nl_abstract-2Dsubmission_&d=DwMGaQ&c=pZJPUDQ3SB9JplYbifm4nt2lEVG5pWx2KikqINpWlZM&r=uXI5O6HThk1ULkPyaT6h2Ws3RKNKSY__GQ4DuS9UHhs&m=rppl8eah4HJHGYE3LxOPjGGJVxLjMAWPU5OB6NpmlTA&s=ifXwFWa_GH_INtZq8KFvZglqT1xAO_beImTXdXLYbwM&e=>.
