Do any of you coach your tutors on how to have hard conversations with their students or incorporate this in your training?
I am finding that because they are tutoring a peer, sometimes tutors are reluctant to initiate challenging conversations. This is especially true with new tutors but not limited to them. Tutors are more apt to ignore something than address it because they don't know how to broach the topic. This can relate to a wide range of concerns.
