We have two main campuses that each have a small food pantry inside the Learning Resource Center. Its run by the student success coaches on each campus. Our coaches work with students on both personal and academic situations so when students come to the LRC we are also providing them with resources to other pantries as well as encouraging them to apply for state food assistance. We are also coaching them on finding employment and budgeting their student refunds and loans. The food pantry was started solely on donations from faculty and staff. It has been sustained by partnering with student organizations and encouraging them to run food drives. Food insecurity is high in our counties so we have also been partnering with the Riverbend Mobile Food Pantry once a semester so our students can volunteer in the community as well as receive food assistance. It was started and continues to be run through our Campus Ministry Office. They petition for donations of cash and goods from time to time. There may be another funding source, but I am not certain of it. (Our mascot is an archer.) I really like the name, because it doesn't seem to imply any stigma. The Counseling office runs it, but I am not sure what process they went through to set it up. I do know they take donations.
