The Organization for Graduate Student Advancement and Professional Development (OGAP), the UF Graduate School and the UF Office of Research are pleased to host the Graduate Student Research Day on Tuesday, April 3rd, 2018 in the Grand Ballroom of the Reitz Union! As the second day of Graduate Student Appreciation Week festivities, this event is designed to showcase the breadth of research across the UF campus centered around a poster presentation competition and featuring keynote speakers.


The theme for the GSRD 2018 is 'EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION'. Attendees will be able to learn from top scholars about the features and advantages of several ways of effective communication as well as network with faculty, postdoctoral researchers, and other graduate students from various disciplines from the University of Florida. The keynote speakers for the event are:

  1. Dr. Thomasenia Adams, Professor and Associate Dean for Research and Faculty Development, UF College of Education
  2. John Kaplan, Professor, UF College of Journalism and Communications

The deadline to submit your abstract is March 13th, 2018 (midnight)Only the first 200 abstracts will be accepted for presentation so hurry up!


UPDATE: New this year, 1st and 2nd place winners from each of the following five categories will be awarded monetary prizes and will represent UF at the Florida Statewide Research Symposium:

1.      Arts and Humanities

2.      Engineering

3.      Health and Life Sciences

4.      Physical Sciences and Mathematics

5.      Social and Behavioral Sciences
