The Religion Graduate Student Association (RGSA) with the Department of Religion at the University of Florida is pleased to host its third annual conference on Religion and Power
on March 17th from 8:00am to 7:00pm.
The conference brings together graduate students from a range of universities and departments to discuss a variety of topics, such as race, identity, performance,
peace, and ecology, as they relate to religion and power.
Our featured speakers include:
- Dr. Zoharah Simmons (University of Florida) will deliver the opening address on “Women, Religion, and Power” at 9:00am in Pugh
Hall 120
- Dr. Joseph Hellweg (Florida State University) will give the keynote presentation on “Making (Up) War in Côte d’Ivoire: Religion,
Power, Play, and Mimesis in the Ivoirian Post-War Period” at 5:00pm in Pugh Auditorium
