CALL FOR PAPERS 

VOLUME IN THE LECTURE NOTES IN SOCIAL NETWORKS (LNSN - SERIES OF
SPRINGER) 

"CHALLENGES IN SOCIAL NETWORK RESEARCH" 

The AIM of the volume is to provide state of the art knowledge in the
field of social network and social media research by collecting
contribution from experts worldwide focused on research challenges in
network analysis. Methodological papers, as well as innovative
applications, are welcome. 

TOPICS of interest include, but not limited to: 

 	* METHODS: methodological problems faced by the analysis of one-mode,
two-mode, signed, multilevel and multiplex networks; statistical and
computational methods for network data collection, visualization and
analysis; recent advancements in clustering network data and
blockmodeling, and communities detection methods; models and methods for
static and dynamic networks; inference from social network data; the
econometrics of networks; causal models with network interference;
techniques for big data analysis in network research; methods for social
and media analysis.
 	* APPLICATIONS: knowledge and innovation networks; cultural and
communication networks; social and political networks; scientific and
collaboration networks; networks in healthcare; economic  and
organizational networks; international affairs; network analysis of
crime and security issues; online and social media networks. The authors
of applied issues should guarantee the availability of scripts and data
that would facilitate the replicability of the content of the chapter.

INSTRUCTION FOR AUTHORS 

The submission process will follow two-steps: 

 	* submission of title and a short abstract (250 words) to
[log in to unmask] In the e-mail subject please indicate "Submission to
LNSN18". This abstract will allow the editors to ensure that the topic
of the paper aligns with the aims of the book;

 	* upon acceptance of their abstract, authors will be invited to submit
the full paper again to the guest editors.

Below is the calendar for submission deadlines. 

IMPORTANT DATES 

ABSTRACT: May 20th, 2018 

FULL PAPER: July 20th 2018 

TENTATIVE ISSUE DATE: February 2019 

Each contribution should be about 12 pages, including tables,
illustrations and references. Anyway, longer contributions will be
accepted (max 18 pages), and should be edited in Latex or Word according
to the Journal guidelines that can be found at:
